Gelso Bianco is a fully restored traditional Pugliese farmhouse, or masseria, with a pool set in the magnificent countryside close to the Unesco town of Alberobello. The farmhouse features iconic elements of local architecture, including 11 trulli cones and an old stable, which is now a state of the art kitchen. Throughout the restoration process, every detail has been given careful attention creating an atmosphere that is reflective of the region and refined in its design.

Gelso Bianco is neither hotel nor bed and breakfast but a country home that blends both rustic and contemporary style and offers the unique experience of living in a trullo, found only in the area of Puglia. There are four double bedrooms with private bathroom, each named after vegetation found the Pugliese landscape: agave, artichoke (carciofo), fig (fico), pomegranate (melograno) and prickly pear (fico di india). Each room fits a matrimonial bed and is slightly different with its own sense of design, layout and personal touches.

L’agave is our master suite set in the center of the property with its own large trulli cones. With several stunning arches the room is spacious and the bathroom includes double sinks and a full bathtub.

Il Carciofo is a comfortable junior suite set next to the main kitchen with richly colored bathroom with a large shower.

Il Fico is set adjacent to the communal living room and has the largest bathroom on the property.

Il Melograno is a loft space also attached to the main living room. The bed sits in the loft in a trullo while an easy set of stairs led to the bathroom and foyer below.

Fico di India is a smaller room on the top deck of the masseria with spectacular views over the entire property and the town of Alberobello. Perfect for sunsets.

There are two kitchens at Gelso Bianco, one is a fully equipped professional kitchen for pre-arranged culinary lessons with our executive chef and the other is other, also fully equipped, is for daily use by renters. You will find everything that you need from morning coffee to the last sip of digestivo before going to bed. With a large outdoor dining table there is plenty of space for al fresco dining in the shade of climbing bugenvilija or beneath a starlight sky at night.

In the communal living room you will find a collection of photos, books about Puglia, music and other interesting bits of information. Guests are encouraged to make us of this space however they wish.

In addition to the pool the surrounding property includes a vegetable garden and several fruit and nut trees that are there for the picking and eating. Enjoy.
