Bari & Surroundings
MAJESTIC ADRIATIC
An irresistible labyrinth of Arab, Byzantine, and classical history coexists with the lively modernity of one of the great cities of the southern Adriatic Sea. There are many layers of civilization that reveal themselves nonstop, alley by alley, monument by monument. The magnificent coastline of Bari stretches north to the beautiful Barletta. And up inland, there's one place you can't miss: Castel del Monte, the gigantic medieval fortress that dominates the region. Everything in Bari is an adventure.
Seaside Towns (Savelletri, Monopoli & Polignano)
A PERFECT TRILOGY
The pure, intense blue-green waters of the Adriatic Sea bathe three small pearls south of the city of Bari. Polignano a Mare is an ancient treasure, with the mythical Lama Monachile beach, a living painting. In the almost untouched Monopoli, Italy pulsates with fishing and gastronomic traditions. The lovely Savelletri, where autumn is a mild spring, is embraced by discreet beaches and the fascinating archaeological park of Egnazia. These are certainly small secrets to chrish.

ENIGMAS CARVED INTO THE ROCK
Matera, a must-see destination, is a mystery of the south. A UNESCO Heritage Site in the Basilicata region, it amazes visitors with its more than 150 beautiful churches and 3,000 dwellings carved into the rocks—the "sassi", dating back to the Paleolithic era. Right next door, the fabulous Murgia National Park, with its incredible wealth of fauna and flora, holds more prehistoric secrets. Millennia of civilization absorb and excite us.

A CELEBRATION OF NATURE AND TRADITION
In the heart of Puglia lies a stunning landscape dotted with silvery olive groves and vineyards that produce memorable white wines. The “trulli,” ancient shelters made of dry stone, are iconic sanctuaries of tradition. Behold, then, this Itria Valley, a triangle full of life, connecting the mythical cities of Bari and Brindisi on the Adriatic and Taranto on the Mediterranean.
