The Story
Once upon a time there was the pleasure of slowness. You could find it in many small daily activities, the same ones that your grandmother did whenever you were with her. Do you remember?
Rediscover that pleasure, take your time and follow a group of "Apulian nonne" on their tour of the most colourful market stalls. You will see their fingertips which, with wisdom and tenderness, delicately touch the fresh vegetables, to feel the consistency and imagine their special flavour on the palate, once they have become a delicious dish.
The same old hands will teach you the ancient art of making Apulian orecchiette, mixing semola flour, water, tradition and love. You don't need anything but passion for a family atmosphere and desire to try a unique experience: get ready to immerse yourself in a silent world where the only noises are the scratch of old knives on the table, small whispered chat and authentic laughter.
It will be very special to cook with them, because they know how to convey all the culinary traditions of the past with simple gestures and few words.
While the pasta cooks, you might want to try knitting with them or have a look at their old photos to learn about a piece of authentic Italian history.
And, finally, among monumental olive trees and seasonal flowers, the table will be prepared and the orecchiette will be ready to eat, perfect cooked, scented with tomato puree, memories and cheerfulness.
